The Job Exchange

Tapping Into The Hidden Job Market

Job Search Engine: LinkUp

From about.com

LinkUp is a job search engine that uncovers hidden jobs from company web sites.

LinkUp monitors thousands of small, mid-sized, and large company career sections in order to connect applicants with unadvertised jobs by listing the jobs on company web sites.

Their claim: LinkUp publishes job openings that are listed on over 11,000 corporate and employer web sites from around the country. As a result, the listings are from real companies; there are no duplicates because they are only pulled from a single source, and they are always current.

Ed. Note: I ran a search for Editor / NJ (without filtering) on LinkUp and Indeed to determine any differences in the results. LinkUp displayed 31 openings and Indeed showed 227. Big difference. I then filtered those results to show only openings at Pearson Education.  Again, a slight gap between the results. LinkUp showed 5 openings, while Indeed showed 16 (and, at the bottom of Indeed’s results was the advisory “We have removed 8 job postings very similar to those already shown…”).  Indeed (no pun intended), there were a few duplicates at Indeed.com.
